Dry grass

Eager birds chirrup biding a goodbye As setting of the sun embarks At the horizon meets the sky and the earth It all seem so serene and stark Walls painted in rattan beize decorated with frames and oil paintings A blue palazzo pant and a red top lies on her bed with a watch, hand bag and big earrings She sits there, just before a window Relentlessly, looking outside And suddenly the rooster clock buzz, frenzy   She realize it has been days since she cried Tears trickle down her cheeks  For she know, another day is about to pass and the fate will guzzle her with woes life sans love and friendship is a dry grass Written for Three Word Wednesday

And... I'm back!

As promised here I am after a long vacation, away from my dearest space; my blog. Are you curious what's that kept me so busy? So, read further. This year has been terribly busy from academic perspective. Soon after board exams I applied and appeared for entrance exams, long wait for the results and then brain-storming for making a decision. I couldn't concentrate on anything and so I started my goodreads challenge. One book a day, and which I religiously followed for almost 15 days. I discovered my love for reading, photography, arts and crafts. I am happy that I utilized my time in some constructive work rather than getting lost in boredom. Then came my results. Some negative and some positive. ''Clearing BHU entrance isn't easy. You are very lucky to get admission in a first attempt''. I was surprised equally as I hadn't prepared anything extra. Then things changed dramatically. So rapid that I myself was confused. Everything was done. The admission ...

Conjecture

The day induces  Watching your dreams With each passing twilight Savoring the loneliness With an imagery of You and I Dancing together  With ignited love In eyes  A soft melody on my lips to make You listen my heart beats...  Only for you! A smile cross my face  When I glance on your photo Hovering  on my room's wall Just being there staring at you I quench my heart  That you're with me You are mine Even after knowing You are not at all Written for A Week For Writing

Be Hopeful!

When I look at the crossroads  Possibilities of even and odds contrive equally through  an intersecting end. I see a hope! A hope  that  there is way just beyond hesitation of taking risks in life and giving it a new dimension, could be wrong or right, whatever the  situation. Just act wise and be hopeful I am so happy to write poem and blog for a prompt after a quite long gap. Thank you so much  A Week for Writing  for inspiring me to write.

A Second Chance

Today's APED prompt is "Second Chance". I have written "55 words fiction" based on one of my most memorable school days experiences.  "Anusha, your lunch box!" screamed mom. I looked at my wrist watch, it was 7:15 AM. I rode my bicycle as hard as I could. Panting and sweating.  Gaurd uncle who's fond of me, smiled and said "You're late. Relax until the prayer is over". I prayed for myself to be given a second chance.

From my mother's womb  to entering into this sphere  The journey had been exciting my bubble curiosity ruled in the air Love and praises were showered Temptation never seemed a struggle I played, read, ate and slept Life was smooth and nothing to trouble The mighty time changes everything  And so, it didn't spare my life  Simply living it anyway is not enough  A reason must be there, I strife I live... to appreciate beautiful life despite the complexities it offers I live... to fulfill all my dreams that I watch every day and night I live... because I am hopeful that tomorrow will be better I live... to spread happiness as life is too short to be sad I live... to read, write and learn because my knowledge is mine I live... not to change the world but to change myself I live... to give my existence a reason that this world would appreciate Written for A Prompt Each Day

The Quote Challenge #1

I have been tagged by a blogger friend, Vinay Leo R. from I Rhyme Without Reason  for ''The Quote Challenge'' . I will share a quote from my favorite book or a quote from my favorite author for three days consecutively in a blog post and tag my friends to be part of this challenge. I would like to tag Maniparna of Scattered Thoughts , Purba of Laugh, laugh and reflect and Tennyson Thomas from The Tea Celebration(s) '' Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray . ''  - Rumi  I greatly follow Rumi's sayings and one of them is, the one I have shared above. His thoughts come from deep roots of various emotions- Hope, happiness, sorrow, helplessness and admiration. Dad and I often debate on doing things based on 'what I love' and 'what I don't love but do it anyway'. I always take my heart's call for things I really like and I rebel. My parents were worried becau...

Forever n Ever

This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 54 ; the fifty-fourth edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. To be part of the next edition, visit and start following Blog-a-Ton . It was the first downpour of the season, vanquishing the summer heat. Jia, with her earnest brown eyes, was watching outside through a window glass. She was mesmerized to spot a peacock dancing beautifully on the terrace of a distant building. She saw a crowd standing outside under the cafe roof, waiting for the rain to stop and so that they could continue to walk toward their respective destinations. Jia was a sensitive child and mature beyond an eight year old. There were two kinds of people she found standing under the roof. Some of them were silent and calm enjoying the pleasant rains, like her. Whereas, others were despite being strangers were friendly enough to start a conversation for a while. Jia could see them smiling, exchanging numbers. Maybe they ...

Save the Mother Earth

E arth is c a lling !   But ar e we lis t e ning ?   Earth, the sole planet that renders the most intelligent and the wisest of creature - Human. To think is the first step to bring a change. To implement  over those thoughts is the second step and continuing to implement is the third step that leads to progress . Over the years we have made a remarkable headway in various fields of science and technology. Everyday we are moving a step further and living a better lifestyle. We are leading such a life where everything is just a thought away! As soon as you think and the next moment you have it. Exchange of instant messages over the globe, online shopping stores, smartphones; almost everything is digital. It's our intelligence and constant efforts that paved our way towards the success. And thus, we are progressing.  But are we acting wise? No! We are simply fooling ourselves. An intelligence with no wisdom is useless.  In the poem ''Keeping Q...

Confession by Amir

You loved swing and you loved heights  Life is strange. For me, a plight  It took you away. Far far from my sight I sit there still and lifeless in fright  The fate mistook you in place of me I'm a jigsaw with missing pieces without thee Together we fought and found glee out of blues  Drained of blues even, life is out of hues I cry day and night with endless pleads  Mom accuse me for your fate. My heart bleed ! I thrive for nothing. Her love and care is all I need Do you suspect my love to be a mastermind seed?  Was it my fault that I was different from you? Was it my fault to be a brother of someone as great as you? I know you expect me to bright and shine I promise you, I won't fail you or let you down the line.  Your loving brother Amir  Written for A to Z Challenge

Blame, Bleak & Blithe

Amir... Amir... Amir! Yelled Ahad. Lost in your thoughts again?  Amir was back to his senses. Yes brother. Sorry I was lost again. Mom doesn't love me.  Daddy loves you, you love me, I love you but I love heights too. Please push it a little hard, Amir. Show me your strength. It excited Amir and he started pushing with all his potential.  Please slow down. Please. Please Amir. I will fall down. Please my little brother.  But Amir listened none of his pleading. Ahad cried out with fear. He tried to stop the swing but unfortunately fall down from it and become unconscious. *** Amir's eyes are wide open with an acute shock and fear. He is unable to retaliate to the gravity of the moment. Ahad is lying still on the ground. Oozing blood from his head with his eyes partially closed. Amir shrieks, screams and yells of the tragedy but there is no one around to listen. Amir lie his ear close to Ahad's chest to see if his heart is beating. '' Tha...

Happiness Is

Life is full of struggles.   For what do we keep ourselves going through them?   It's a chase towards the   ''happiness'' . Every one of us wants to be happy and cheerful but it is always the disappointment that mostly affect our lives. No matter what challenge life throws, all we should do is accept it positively with a smile. My nani ma's words help me to keep an optimistic attitude. She says,   ''Things happen the way they are destined to be. You may plan for several things but not one of them would work until it is meant to be.''   Her words work like a booster and it instantly fills me with an utter happiness and peace.  Happiness is all around us. Sometimes we can not find it among the chaos of life and many a times we ignore it. True happiness does not lie in having a rich legacy, having villas and lots of money. However, most of us find them a way towards the happy life. Happiness is to have people who love and care for you, the ple...

I Stood Tall

Life brings up so many challenges and winning over them is not always possible. A failure may let us down but hope within should remain kindled, always. For, where there is hope, there is life. When we are in doubt, in pain or in a sad mood we feel like sharing our hearts out to feel better and see things from different perspective. In everyone's life there is someone close to heart to whom we idolize, trust and share secrets.  In my life, it is my dad to whom I adore and love the most. He usually has solutions to all my problems. I give no second thoughts in sharing anything with him. He listens, understands and guides me on how the situation should be dealt. Since my early childhood I have been a great art lover in one or the other form. When I was ten years old I had participated in a drawing competition. It was a grand competition and students from different schools had participated. I was nervous after seeing the crowd as most of them were senior to me but still I was co...
