It has double stripped itself with arms, emanations, progress in research and science, set up of multinational companies and many more things that makes it a 'modern India' .   We feel proud of our country's success that has left almost no challenge unbeatable but that proud feeling doesn't stay longer as soon as we step out in the streets of India .  On one hand India is known for it's equality in diversity, rich culture and tradition, food and spices, history and historical monuments on the other hand it is becoming a death trap because of increasing pollution. According to WHO's survey , out of 20 most polluted cities in the world, 13 are in India. As a nation we are making progress with the advancement in technology, enriching economy, living standards and education. We are touching skies in this competitive era and accumulating all possible luxuries to live life at its fullest unaware of a serious issue to look upon and work over it. Toilet and sanitation are something we consider for granted because we haven't been deprived of it. It's sad to say that over 597 million people are still facing the problem of Open Defecation .  The continuous practice of open defecation and lack of sanitation are proving to be the major reasons behind the rapid spread of fatal infectious diseases among the children and elders like cholera, jaundice, typhoid, hepatitis, etc. with such serious attacks leading to death of many people. The story of violence against women seems endless in our country even after the 65 years of Independence. Women were considered feckless and even today the same. We can say, the status of women has upheaval by the present time. Many of the laws have been made by the government, seats are reserved for the women in train compartments, Lok sabha, and colleges and are given special privileges in society but that's not enough.   Laws alone are not enough! According to the laws, everyone has a right to be treated equally but actually they are limited to the constitution only. If it would have been followed truly; there would have been no injustice to women in society, no insecurity, no contempt, why the number of rape cases are increasing day by day? Why their faces are burned with cruelty if they protest for the wrong happened to them?
