Book Review : The Hidden Letters... By Purba Chakraborty

The Blurb and The Book:
''The Hidden Letters...'' is a story of Anaya Chatterjee, a best selling author who discover writing is a medicine to her soul. She has a loving doctor husband who dots on her and her teenager daughter idolizes her as the world's best mother. She has a perfect well settled and a happy family.Despite of all these she lack inner peace. She is horrified by the nightmares of 'sins' she had committed in the past. Those ''Hidden Letters'' kept locked in her cupboard written by her cousin, Varsha long back. Presently a patient at a mental asylum in Kolkata.

A secret kept since long haunts her to an extent that she find it so hard to hold anymore knowing well that the disclosure of secret might take away all her happiness and respect that she has gained over the years as a wife and a mother. Her husband and daughter might leave her and never ever forgive for her cruel act.She is determined as she finds a bit of humanity is still left in her.

Will she be able be to justify the reason behind her deeds? Will she be able to forgive herself for the act she committed in the chase of her happiness? Will she be able to live at peace? and a lot of such questions continue...

My Views: The suspense begin right from the third chapter 'A Silent Storm'  and the same continues till the end. Once I started reading it I totally got engrossed into the story and kept it down after the four hours of reading until it was end. Purba has done a great job with all the characters and depicting their emotions. Crunch twists and turns will keep you glued to it. The story is moving and at no point I find it boring. At a first glance I didn't like its cover page but after completing the book I realized how perfect it goes with the story. In fact I count it as the best book I read this year. A must read, I would say.

About the Author: Purba Chakraborty is currently pursuing MBA in marketing from Kolkata. She is also a freelance content writer, magazine writer, blogger and the author of bestselling novel 'Waking in the streets of love and destiny'. Her short stories have been published in various anthologies.

Everything was dull and dry. On such a searing day nobody could imagine even a blow of wind for split second  but Shanaya, a strong instinct believer already predicted , there would be rains shortly.  No one cared! She quickly went into her kitchen to prepare a mug of coffee and some cookies for herself. Her younger brother started teasing her for her dippy act. Hot coffee on a hot day! Didi, have you got crazy?  She wasn't paying attention towards him. She was calm, lost in the other world. Busy in blending cocoa and sugar. Again her brother in a teasing...

Jia, with her earnest brown eyes, was watching outside through a window glass. She was mesmerized to spot a peacock dancing beautifully on the terrace of a distant building. She saw a crowd standing outside under the cafe roof, waiting for the rain to stop and so that they could continue to walk toward their respective destinations. Jia was a sensitive child and mature beyond an eight year old. There were two kinds of people she found standing under the roof. Some of them were silent and calm enjoying the pleasant rains, like her. Whereas, others were despite being strangers were friendly enough to start a conversation for a while. Jia could see them smiling, exchanging numbers. Maybe they ...
