Ugly truth of deceitful world

My true innocent heart says;
Love everyone and praise,
Tracing out one's truthfulness,
The negative impression is taking away my faith,
So mean, So cheap , So thoughtless this world ;
Took my love and kindness for granted?
Still my heart says influence the hue of love everywhere,
But what if my mind is not ready to tolerate those false promises and selfish deeds..
That broken me so deep!
Now I think, Oh! I was a fool who loved them more and more,
Sacrificed all my willing keeping in mind their heart and feelings not to deplore,
But what it's outcome at last?
All belief and love got blast !
It ruined with pain,
That gained nothing except regret and strain .

This poem is written for Thursday Poets Rally Week 56

  1. Somewhere there's someone who dreams of your smile, and finds in your presence that life is worthwhile. So, when you are lonely remember it's true: somebody, somewhere is thinking of you.

  2. But it is the bitter truth. The one whom we'd love the most would make us hurt the most, even though they might not mean it, the slightest deviation from expectation in such cases is the most unforgiving.

    Nice post.

  4. your poem is full of pain and hurt felt betray ruining positive hope inside. but still the candle of hope burns, enlightens our soul to love all irrespective of the strain that one faces against wishes left incomplete or promises broken without regret. gather strength against all odds, the deserved is yet to be discovered who is to fill life with clarity and happiness, proving to be the best from the rest, regaining faith and trust, securing GOD'S grace.

  5. wonderful poem! stirs a lot of thought.

    sometimes we can be too much in tune with the negative of this world. as strong as the negative is the positive is equally as strong. so concentrate on the positive and make it grow.

  7. I was talking to my confessor a few months ago and the words he left me made me ponder a lot little one."Never be overcome with evil, instead conquer it with good."

    I wouldn't say just keep going...keep on walking the way towards holiness, love and charity but be more discerning of the people you encounter.

    I wouldn't want to see my young ones becoming cynical...smile :)...the world may be deceitful but it is open to love and forgiveness :)

  8. Remain positive. Mother Teresa said go against the current. Be the change --- be the truth against a deceitful world.

  9. Beautiful and innocent =)
    Yes, this world is full of lies and truth rarely exists. Attitudes crush you, break you but in the end either we can show them the mirror or ignore, being right ourselves leaving them as they are. Sometimes tit for tat is only the better option.

  17. Hello Simran dear.
    When all is said and done, it's not love that fails us, but we who disappoint love. Love never changes & is eternal. We humans are own worse enemies with our ever-changing moods.

    This is painfully bittersweet, but beautifully penned.
    Thanks for sharing.

  19. Love can always conquer hate, if its felt even a little. Because to me, not all the world is mean or cheap or thoughtless :) Very beautiful poetry, Sims.
